Lenovo S720 – Specs Review: MT6577 Dual Core 1.0GHz 4.5-inches QHD

Here’s an upcoming entry of Lenovo on the MT6577 category. Its the Lenovo S720. Not much is written about this phone, but gazing on its looks; its definitely a stylish looking phone in red that is pretty much an attention grabber. Well then, let’s try to check out its specs based on published sources.

The Lenovo S720 sports the latest MTK6577 ARMv7 Cortex-A9 dual-core CPU that is clocked at 1.0GHz and matched with that is a PowerVR SGX531 Ultra GPU. No doubt it is an absolute high-end performer entry-level phone.

It runs on Android 4.0 ICS out of the box and has multi-language support. It has a yet to confirm RAM of 512MB. We cant be sure if its just 512MB or 1GB maybe until it hits the stores. But the ROM is a 4GB eMMC, supports up to 64GB Class 12 Micro SD Memory Card (TF-Card) max.

The Lenovo S720 boasts with a slightly bigger 4.5″ qHD screen at 540×960 pixels resolution, with 16M Colors (TBD), and is a TFT-LCD capacitive multi touch screen. Note, it isn’t IPS and a bit of downer but we are still yet to confirm once it gets in-stock on online stores.

It has Dual SIM, has 3G/WCDMA. The posted color available is just red and we dont know if there will be other color schemes for this Lenovo S720. It has an 8.0MP and 0.3MP snappers set which is pretty much normal for MT6577 series. While a bit downside to it is its not-so-impressive battery capacity rating at 1750mAh.

Taking into considerations all that specs; I am guessing that the price of this phone will be just below 200USD. But the little boost on the screen size might not yield out that guess maybe. As of now, price is still unknown.

Personally, I can say that this Lenovo S720 doesnt have anything new to beat my choice of getting a HDC Galaxy S3 Pro, or Newman N1, or JiaYu G3. Even if its main attraction is the design; yeah it has a good design and solid-built form factor look but I think its too girly for me. Well that’s just me, what about you? Do you like the style of this Lenovo S720? Do you mind getting one?
